Heart Symbols Copy & Paste

Heart symbols in every style and colour: outlined hearts, heavy hearts, curly hearts and the full emoji rainbow, ready to copy and paste.

About heart symbols

Hearts come from two different places in Unicode. The text hearts ♡ and ♥ (U+2661/U+2665) are literally the playing-card suit — they've existed since Unicode 1.1 and take your font's colour. The dingbat family (❥ ❣ ❦) adds curls and flourishes, and the coloured emoji hearts arrived in waves: the first rainbow set in 2010, 🖤 in 2016, 🤍🤎 in 2017, and the pastel 🩷🩵🩶 as recently as 2023 — so the newest ones still show as boxes on older phones.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between ♡ and ♥?+

They're the same glyph, outlined and filled — both are the playing-card heart suit from Unicode 1.1. ♡ reads softer and more decorative; ♥ reads bolder. Both are plain text, so they work in usernames where colour emoji can't go.

What does the white heart 🤍 mean?+

The white heart is the softest of the coloured hearts — it's used for gentle, pure or condolence contexts, and it's a coquette-aesthetic staple alongside 🎀 and 🩰. It arrived in Unicode 10 (2017), so very old devices may show a box.

How do I type a heart symbol on my keyboard?+

You don't need a shortcut — copy one here and paste it. On phones, the text hearts ♡♥ live in some keyboard symbol menus, but the fastest route on any device is tap-to-copy from the grid above.
